About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Oaklyn, New Jersey, Collingswood Diner stands as a beloved local gem for anyone craving authentic, hearty diner fare with a comforting touch. Specializing in classic American breakfast and diner cuisine, this welcoming spot invites guests to indulge in timeless flavors served up with genuine care.

At Collingswood Diner, the menu offers a delightful variety that satisfies every diner’s craving. Whether you're in the mood for a warm, comforting soup of the day or a fresh, vibrant Fruit Salad Bowl paired with cottage cheese and pineapple, the choices here provide both freshness and satisfying portions. The cold platters, such as the Whole Shrimp or Tuna Salad Platter, deliver generous, well-balanced servings perfect for a lighter lunch or a refreshing meal on-the-go.

For those who enjoy sandwiches with a bit of a grilled twist, the chicken sandwich selections shine. From the classic Grilled Chicken with lettuce, tomato, and mayo to the smoky, crispy Grilled Chicken “B.L.T.”, each bite bursts with familiar, well-layered flavors that are deeply satisfying. The Buffalo Chicken Breast with ranch dressing offers a spicy kick, while the BBQ Chicken Breast brings a sweet, tangy glaze that beautifully complements the tender chicken.

The true soul of this diner, however, lies in its atmosphere and the nostalgia it evokes. Regular patrons like Conni Miller fondly recall the fresh spinach perfectly paired with feta and mushrooms and the strong, comforting coffee reminiscent of times spent at grandma’s kitchen table. K M notes how the fries are a standout, thick cut and perfected without gimmicky seasonings, calling to mind the familiar, uncomplicated goodness of old-school favorites.

Service here matches the warm, homestyle quality of the food. Friendly staff greet diners with genuine smiles, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in—as Misty Dean witnessed with attentive service paired with expertly brewed coffee that keeps you coming back.

It’s impossible not to feel a twinge of melancholy hearing about the diner’s impending closing, as shared by customers reflecting on the memories created here. Collingswood Diner is more than just a meal stop; it’s a place where community stories have unfolded over hearty breakfasts, spirited lunches, and simple dinners, all enjoyed in an unpretentious, cozy setting. For those lucky enough to visit this classic haven, the experience is a warm reminder of the enduring comfort only a true Jersey diner can provide.

Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bowl of soup, indulging in a refreshing cold platter, or savoring one of their standout grilled chicken sandwiches, Collingswood Diner offers an approachable and satisfying taste of traditional diner dining, made special by its genuine charm and loyal following.

I will forever miss this place. I hope the owners have a happy and wonderful retirement. Thanks for all the memories. And to the new owners, you should’ve kept it a restaurant! There are so many dispensaries in south jersey do we really need more weed?? Very sad :(

Love Jersey diners. The food just tastes good here. Not fancy, but really good. Spinach was fresh and the feta balanced perfect with the mushrooms. Yum! Coffee was just like my grandmoms.

really good, especially loved the fries. they dont do that stupid "seasoning" finish or whatever coating where its really just craggy bits that turn brown and absorb the fryer oil off tastes. reminded me of old school mcdonalds fries except thicker. they have a sign says the owners are selling amd its closing august 11. doesnt say if the building will remain a diner or not though. typical diner prices so i knocked a star off, theyre closing anyhow.

Very friendly staff and great coffee. The French Onion soup and Chilli was decent but tasted a little sweet. Great value for the price.

We came here on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed our entire meal! We had the gyro platter, the tuna melt and a ceasar salad with root beers, everything was super delicious!! We'll definitely come again when we're back in this area!!

We had a great experience! Cannot believe the all the negative reviews. We ordered a few omelette and a gyro platter and everything was seasoned perfectly. Nice and fluffy eggs and yummy potatoes.
